The short version
We collect the minimum data needed to run the product. We do not sell your data. We do not train models on your queries. You can export everything and delete your account in two clicks.
What we collect from you
When you sign up: email, password hash, optional name. When you use the product: the queries you run and the integrations you connect. When you pay: billing info handled by Stripe (we never see your card number).
What we index
Crowd Scope indexes posts that any logged-out internet user can access on Reddit, X, LinkedIn (public posts only), TikTok, Hacker News, Indie Hackers, Product Hunt, and public Discord servers. We do not access DMs, private groups, gated content, or paid platforms. We respect each platform's robots file and rate limits.
Your rights if you appear in the index
Anyone whose public username appears in our index โ whether a Crowd Scope customer or not โ can:
- Email privacy@crowd-scope.com to request a full export of what we have on you.
- Request removal of specific posts or your entire username, honored within 24 hours.
- Ask for a no-future-indexing flag, which prevents your handle from ever being re-indexed.
Cookies
We use a single first-party session cookie for login. We use Plausible (cookieless, privacy-friendly) for product analytics. We do not use Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, or any cross-site tracker.
Where data is stored
Crowd Scope is hosted in the EU (Frankfurt). The core index is replicated across two regions. We use Postgres for user data, OpenSearch for the public-content index, and S3-compatible storage for raw HTML snapshots (retained 30 days).
Sub-processors
- Stripe (payments)
- Resend (transactional email)
- Plausible (analytics, EU-hosted)
- Hetzner + Cloudflare (infrastructure)
Data retention
If you delete your account, we wipe your data within 30 days. Backups roll off within 90 days.
